Come along as I work on a bunch of interesting projects in my shop! My current main project is a 1971 Datsun 510. The plan is to turn it into a good street car capable of doing some competition events like autocross and hill climbs. Will be lots of other projects such as workshop organization and misc welding projects. I am by far an expert, I usually know just enough to make a mess of everything. When things go wrong I promise to show everyone so they can learn from my mistakes. When things go well I will take all the credit :)

Watch the top post we he moves it on the casters, they move more than 4". I have an advantage lift and the posts can't move because of the design. I would NOT go under a BendPak .....I value my life.
HOLA... DESDE VENEZUELA... MUY BIEN... EXCELENTE... TE FELICITO... UNA PREGUNTA... USTED... SABRÁ EL NOMBRE EN AMAZON DE LA HERRAMIENTA DE PLANCHAR LAMINAS...
GREAT IDEA
OUTSTANDING
People do make 1” plywood.
True, should have just said it is hard to find and you can easily find cheap 1/2 inch.
How tall is the lift with the casters on? I/m trying to figure out if it will fit under a 92" garage opening.
It only raises just barely off the ground, probably about an inch. When not in use it doesn't raise it at all. The total height depends on the model of the lift so the bendpak specs should give you that.
Thank you. From this I located the thing. Easy as pie for me to loosen, even with an adjustable. Now wiped off and soon to see if that did it. Saved me a bunch I bet.
Great informative video. thx for posting
Does your motor have built in thermal protection? If not, did you add it in, or just omit it?
I can't imagine overheating being an issue. Takes maybe 30 seconds to lift a vehicle. Even at max weight can't see it overheating.
@@ChappysGarage I agree! Reading over the manual for a HD-9ST I am installing, it mentioned needing thermal disconnect switch 10 times. On your motor tag, does it say “not thermally protected”?
Thank for doing this video. We appreciate.
thanks! that helped me
Amazon has all the steel roller trollies and steel mount for probably less than you paid for all your bearings.. all u need is 1 5/8” strut.
Anyway i could call you having problems seeing where your button air stuff all goes together
Hi there, just watched your vid on your cb200 looks cool. Where did you source the fork dust boots from? Thx
They were on the bike when I bought it so can't say. Sorry.
It works on my phone!! Thank you so much!
Thanks for the great video. I was unsure where I wanted to put my Bendpak but now I know I can easily relocate it.
Dental floss micro brush, swich cleaner and compressed air has kept my phones going. Don't go nuts with the switch cleaner like this guy, spray/soak the micro brush and clean.
Thanks so much for the video! I have a Bendpak 4 post lift coming soon. This will certainly help with my son and myself doing the install.
You don't need to take the brake caliber off. You also don't need the bottle jack. To anyone wondering about a weird noise coming from the front of the vehicle, it's the strut. It almost sounds like a grinding noise and you can feel the noise. I thought it was a wheel bearing at first, taking the wheel off two times, until I figured this out. This all happened at about 277k
Mine is clean as a whistel! But just loosened up these all the same! This is useless
Buying the 440 tomorrow. Just to lift front of my ztr for maintenance under deck. Mower weighs 850 plus gas but I think ztrs are a 70 / 30 Weight distro .. 70 in back. So 275 to lift front.. Hopefully I'm good! Hope it's held up well for you. Maybe I'll get next step up in case I need to lift back off ground a few inches some day.. tire changes etc..
Great video
Thank you very much for the video! Mine is sitting in the garage waiting for me - and your video removed my anxiety! Great job w/ the video!

Hey man, this video saved my behind on multiple occasions. I’m case you were wondering, BendPak’s instructions still suck…
Glad to hear it was useful. I think Bendpak needs to throw out the directions and just point people at my video.
@@ChappysGarage agreed, I’ll put it in the comments of my upcoming review… only thing I’m stuck on now is, getting the hydraulic to move. It went out but doesn’t seem like it wants to go back in.
surprisingly my fronts were still good and have good dampening and compression after 220k miles. All shocks were original, the rears however were in terrible shape. I seriously love the front leaf spring design because I can just swap out the shocks so easily. BTW @ 9:32 you don't need to take anything off. There's a super simple way to take the shock out. dampers are easily compressed by hand. You can just pull the damper shaft down and then pull the shock out. Or even easier to just lift the bottom of the strut by compressing it and then pulling down so the shaft comes out of the top bushing.
yea man...waiting for the 1000# lift...
Pretty good video and gave me some Ideas thanx.
The flat end is for a DIN/ISO bubble flare.
I done this with a pin and used a dry toothbrush after. It seems the little plate in my vape is loose so its worked but still wobbly.
Never had this problem with the older usb versions. How newer products the worst it gets
The aluminum thing that the stud broke off of what is the name is it . Great video by the way. Thanks for sharing.
Wow. This really helped. I never thought to use electric contact spray but that made all the difference. Thanks for the video!
Hi Chappy, I just received my BendPak four post (HD-9) lift, and have begun setting it up. Your video was very helpful to me. I also want you to know, it seems several spots that tripped you up years ago have been corrected by BendPak in the installation manual - However, I still paid more attention to your video! Josh - from Vermont.
Can’t you swap out the tool box liner for another color? It would show thru the black mat really well to show missing wrenches.
Great video! But I would suggest adjusting the microphone so that we don't hear your swallowing. Cheers!
Man, is that an Opel Kadett?
Datsun 510. Similar shape.
Did it charge? 😀 I have contempt for engineers who design things like USB-C and the European governments that make them required. It's a scam to make folks buy new phones. 😑
Good video. I am also erecting my BendPak 4 post solo. I'm at the point of columns up, cross tubes installed and lighter runway slotted in. Tackling the piston side later today. I would have liked to see more on the cable routing and sheave removal and install, but I will muddle thru. Thanks for this vid.
I just finished my four post install. I also found those 4 bolts and spacers left over and figured they went in the bottom of the safety ladder. I appreciate the video and confirming.
Glad I can help. Hopefully you can use the lift to make Finnegan even faster! :)
Hey bro glad I saw this video I had heard this before on the old connectors but I hadn't thought about it so till I watch your video and I just used an old toothbrush and then blew it out with my compressor but it works a whole lot better not brand new but it stays in a whole lot better
any chance of some measurements of the steel to make some thanks
Nicely done! The video and the assembly instructions were great!!
It’s cool that ya show mistakes along the way.
YIKES I would recommend against using spray in the connector. I did that once last year and the stuff got up and wicked into the screen, and the screen was never right again after that. What I do is to carefully pick the lint out with an xacto blade. Be careful to just draw it along the bottom and pull the lint up the edge don't scrape the center bit with the contacts on it.
Holes in flanges are not recommended by designers let alone engineers who frown due to the major weakening of the frame they cause. Most frames are labeled 'Do not weld flanges' due to weakening there.
I once attached a Camero subframe to a 1936 Chevy whose frame was two piece folded sheet metal that required perches that I made and attached them by arc welding through the first layer of sheet metal ensuring a strong penetrating joint.
Thanks it worked. 💯
Why does apple have to go: "😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 we’re not making enough money we need to make different chargers" and not just use one charger?
